Download Instagram Reels on Android

Paste a Instagram link below, then follow the steps to save the video on your phone.

Android saves Instagram videos straight to the Downloads folder, where your Gallery and Files apps can find them. You only need Chrome or Samsung Internet, and the steps work on any Android phone or tablet.

How to Download Instagram Reels on Android

  1. Copy the link

    In the Instagram app, tap the Share icon under the post or Reel, then Copy link.

  2. Paste it in Chrome

    Open this page in Chrome, paste the link in the box above and tap Download.

  3. Pick a quality

    Tap the MP4 size you want. A download notification shows the progress.

  4. Find the video

    Tap the notification when it finishes, or open Files (My Files on Samsung) and go to Downloads.

Tips

  • Install this site as an app: in Chrome, tap the menu, then Add to Home screen. TapSaveReels then appears in the Instagram app’s Share menu, so you can skip copying the link.
  • If a video doesn’t show in Gallery, open the Files app. Some Gallery apps hide the Downloads folder.
  • If the video opens in a player, tap the three-dot menu and choose Download.
  • For carousels, each photo and video in the post gets its own download button.

Where are downloaded videos saved on Android?

In the Downloads folder on your phone’s internal storage. Open Files (or My Files on Samsung), then Downloads.

Why doesn’t the video show up in my Gallery?

Some Gallery apps skip the Downloads folder. Open the Files app, or move the video to your Camera or Movies folder.

Can I share straight from the Instagram app?

Yes, after you add TapSaveReels to your Home screen from Chrome’s menu. Then tap Share on a post and choose TapSaveReels.
