How to Download Instagram Reels on Mac

  1. Copy the link

    On instagram.com, open the post, click ⋯ (More), then Copy link. You can also press Cmd + L, then Cmd + C.

  2. Paste it here

    Click the box above, press Cmd + V, then press Return or click Download.

  3. Pick a quality

    Click the MP4 size you want. If Safari asks whether to allow downloads from this site, click Allow.

  4. Open the file

    In Finder, press Option + Cmd + L to open Downloads. The video is at the top.

Tips

  • To keep the video in Photos, drag the MP4 into the Photos app.
  • To change where Safari saves files, open Safari, Settings, General, then File download location.
  • For carousels, each photo and video in the post gets its own download button.

Why does Safari ask to allow downloads?

Safari asks once for each site. Click Allow and future downloads start right away.

Where does my Mac save the video?

In the Downloads folder. In Finder, press Option + Cmd + L to open it.

Can I download on Mac without Safari?
